2-D Girls Are Sexual Deviants

Rape! Sex! Boobs! Meh all of you desensitized fools probably just rolled your eyes. But listen. This post is for all of you silly girls hankering for a dangerous romance– and by dangerous, I mean bordering on rape. See, I realized how about 40% of people got onto this site. It sucks, but you guys search for these terms.

urgh

urgh X2

Now, whoever typed out the one truth that L-elf is a bad boy deserves a hug. But what’s with the ‘please fuck me anime’?! Wanna hear more of such search terms? The weirdest one was something about Pokemon Yaoi. But I mainly sense a slightly misconstrued shoujo spirit hovering around. And i’m sure that it can all be summed up by one huge misconception best represented by some girl searching about this: manga where girl gets raped by guy who loves her. Continue reading

Shingeki no Kyojin Ep 1: :'(

Plot summary: Titans. Man-eating titans are outside, while the humans are enclosed inside, lulled by a pretentious sense of safety because they’ve got a 50m wall protecting them. Guess they didn’t know that some titans are larger than 50m and can easily smash down their fragile line of defense.

This is one powerful anime. I’ve got to admit, the first two-thirds of the show was slightly disappointing because I had read the manga and anyone who has read the manga must know how freaking good this story is. And then, the climax blew me away.

Fucking Titans

Horror– It Intrigues Everyone

So.. i’ve got manga recommendations.

Hah. Why is Kougami here– of course it’s because he has that badass hero appearance!

I’ve recently been fascinated by the horror genre, and went on a rampage for such manga. There were many sick ones, lame ones, mild ones, but finally i’ve found two that were really enthralling. The intrinsic curiosity that draws us to gore is nothing special, just primitive. Nowadays seeing acts of violence is fairly common anywhere on the web or in games, and this is translating to real brutality in everyday life. Continue reading

The Day I Woke Up At 12 AM

You know how at times, when you fall asleep with a shitload of uncompleted work awaiting you, and your wise brain plus concerned conscience decides to wake you up at 12am to give you a chance of redemption, a chance to clear away those terrible assignments? Well, it happened to me, and I had the choice or doing either Physics homework or Math exercises or Chinese worksheets or an English quiz or a thousand other of such chores. So, what did I do?

…I read manga of course.

Sigh, I felt just like the time I created this blog months ago– unmotivated and shitty. Anime was like a refuge, but also a pitfall. Anyway, I was emotionally unstable and crying at even the stupidest shoujos I read (sounds crazy, I swear not all girls are like that) and I bet it wasn’t just because of the empathy I had for the characters– unconsciously, self-pity must have been mixed in too. Lets not dwell on my disappointing lifestyle and move on to some recommendations! Continue reading

What Does The Humble Commoner Think Of Anime?

So. Aren’t we all curious about what our fellow uneducated plebeians think of anime, even though we know the standard answer? Well, however much overused this phrase might be, reality is a bitch and anime doesn’t really attract people outside of the fandom. Guess what, I know this because I actually asked friends about their opinion. And then it was judgement time.

Something really sad was that when I told a friend that I was going to ask her some questions regarding anime, she responded with a reluctant and unwilling tone. WHY FRIEND WHY. Then as expected, she found anime “un-cool” and “un-interesting”. Ouch. Harsh, ain’t that. One thing I find interesting though, is that she had never watched anime or read manga. I was surprised that she didn’t even know what Naruto was– hey, at least quite a few random people do. Point is, this means that she has made premature assumptions and judgements about anime on an unfounded basis… although it’s only natural to have some sort of perception or impression beforehand. But why does anime have such a negative connotation attached to it? :(

More Romance And My Selfish Thoughts

I have returned, with more… shoujo. Oh shoujo! It is thee that bestows upon us young, fair maidens with multitudes of dreamy delusions, subtly drawing out our delicate emotions and tears with such innocuous and poignant tales. At the finale, the point where one story ends and the search for another begins, I can only feel saudade, such bitterness but also contentment.

…what’s up with that pretentious, flowery diction you say?! Do not be alarmed, farmer. It is merely an attempt, a valiant, honest effort at sounding cultured. Begone, vulgarities! Vocabulary, I shall uphold thee upon your righteous name! …okay I shall move on. Continue reading

Reasons Why The Anime Jerk Always Gets The Girl

You know it. Whenever you start a shoujo manga, and you get introduced to some rich, arrogant and perfect prince (of the school), someone the heroine either hates or admires, that she is ultimately going to end up with him. It doesn’t matter how many nice-guy-rivals there are to obstruct their dramatic romance. Haughty guys gets the girl any day.

There’s a simple reason for this: WE NEED A STORY, DUH!!! If the girl gets together with a nice guy and they start an ideal and peaceful relationship, how’s our story going to develop?! Sure, there might be circumstances that break them apart, but since the guy is so nice, he’ll solve all the problems, comfort and love the girl, and the conflict is easily resolved. We can’t have such a simplistic story– readers want more. They need excitement, they need to get their emotions messed up and get caught up in the riveting plot. Continue reading

Great Manga

Uhhhhhhh YO! I’ll be recommending some really good manga (well as usual there’s romance in all of them but it’s not the main genre for some :P) so… READ THEM!!

1. Venus Kisoukyoku

This one is awesome. It’s longer than the usual shoujos I read (29 chapters!) and I was afraid that I would get bored of repetition and cliches BUT NO. It was superb, with bishies, an interesting storyline, and of course, THE FINEST CHARACTERS!! The characters weren’t shallow (well.. it’s 29 chapters after all xD) and each character had a personality. I loved the female lead. She’s one of the rare strong types, damn cute, and pretty. The male lead is CUUUUTE!! \o/ I like all of them!

READ THIS GOOD SHOUJO.  Continue reading

More Shoujo Goodness

A friend of mine recently asked me why I liked shoujo romances so much. My first thought was actually that maybe I, as teenage girls do, craved for some affection from the opposite sex, and satiated myself through manga. But I realized that I didn’t really feel such a longing for romance, and instead it was the vivid art and story of shoujo manga itself that hooked me so much. Shoujo art can be so poignant, and the characters are extremely expressive, which can lead me to get really emotional. Because of such display of emotions, it’s easy to get engrossed in the story and enjoy it. Plus most shoujo manga are usually short with happy endings, so they give instant gratification! All hail shoujo.

I’m gonna recommend some shoujos that I think are really nice!

Anti-Anime Sentiments

Sometimes, when one reads manga too excessively, hungering purposelessly for more and reading it for the sake of reading it, one will feel sad. Then a post such as this one will be written after retrospection. Because right now I do feel sad and unproductive and stupid and i’m starting to want to hate anime. In my context actually, anime is a waste of time.

FFFFFFUUUUU no fuck me for saying that, but I really think so. What is anime? Anime is a hobby, an obsession just like many others out there like K-Pop, and anime is nothing special. An anime fan is pretty much the same as a Harry Potter Fan or a Twilight fan. Anime is entertainment, just as watching a movie is. And fact is, for my case at least, anime is a waste of a lot of time, period. Don’t you think that reading books is a much better option than watching anime? By reading books, you enhance your linguistic abilities, seek deeper thoughts and themes and get pulled in by the fantastic writing. Reading manga/watching anime is the lazy version of reading books. Too lazy to read all those pages, so instead, by reading manga, you get visual aids with conversational dialogue only.

How can reading manga be better than reading books? Books are definitely more beneficial. Continue reading
